Burtoncourt (German Brittendorf , Lorraine Brittenduerf ) is a French commune with 196 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

The municipality of Burtoncourt is located about 20 kilometers northeast of Metz at an altitude between 219 and 343 m above sea level. The municipality covers 5.11 km².

history

The small village was also called Bretoncourt in the 18th century and was on the Maginot Line at the beginning of World War II .
