Raville (German Rollingen ) is a French commune with 268 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

Raville is located on the German Nied (Nied Allemande) , between Metz and Saint-Avold .

history

It was once a Luxembourg exclave from which one of the most important families in Luxembourg, the Lords of Rollingen , came. Their castle was destroyed during the French Revolution .
