Chieulles is a French commune with 417 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

Chieulles is eight kilometers northeast of Metz . The Moselle forms the western boundary of the municipality.

history

The village bore the Germanized name Schöllen 1915-1918 and 1940-1944 .

During the Second World War , most of the residents were expelled by the Germans .
