Vernéville is located 13 kilometers west of Metz on the border with the Meurthe-et-Moselle department at an altitude of between 278 and 322 m above sea level. The municipality covers 9.18 km².

history

1915–1918 and 1940–1944 it bore the Germanized name “Wernheim”.
