Béchy is a French commune with 630 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

Béchy is located about 20 kilometers southeast of Metz at an average altitude of 275 m. The municipality covers 9.57 km².

history

The village was first mentioned in 900 as Baschiacum .

From 1915 to 1918 and from 1940 to 1944 it was called Bechingen .
