Hauconcourt is a French commune with 623 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .
geography
Hauconcourt is located on the left bank of the Moselle , about 13 kilometers north of Metz at an altitude between 155 and 166 m above sea level. The municipality covers 7.9 km².
history
The place was first mentioned in 1060 as Hauencumeurt and has always been on the French side of the historical German-French language border .
1915-1918 and 1940-1944 he had the Germanized name Halkenhofen .

Economy and Infrastructure
The large industrial area ZI Talange-Hauconcourt extends to the west of the municipality . In particular, shopping centers ( Lapeyre, Leroy Merlin, E.Leclerc ) and a hotel belonging to the Novotel chain are located here . In the south of the municipality is the site of a former oil refinery ( Societe de la Raffinerie de Lorraine ).
The A4 and A31 motorways intersect in the southwest of the municipality .
