Pournoy-la-Chétive is a French commune with 637 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

Pournoy-la-Chétive is about twelve kilometers south of Metz at an altitude between 171 and 197 m above sea level. The municipality covers 2.56 km².

history

The village was first mentioned in 745 as Prunido .

1915–1918 and 1940–1944 it bore the Germanized name Kleinprunach . When Pournoy-la-Chétive was liberated from German occupation, it was completely destroyed in autumn 1944.
