Jury is a French commune with 1,036 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

The municipality of Jury is located seven kilometers south-east of Metz at an altitude between 191 and 245 m above sea level. The municipality covers 3.17 km².

history

The village was first mentioned as Gury in 1128 .

1915–1918 and 1940–1944 it bore the Germanized name Giringen .
