Mécleuves is a French commune with 1156 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

Mécleuves is located twelve kilometers southeast of Metz on the two-lane highway to Château-Salins at an altitude between 192 and 292 m above sea level. The municipality covers 12.88 km². The districts of Frontigny and Lanceumont belong to Mécleuves .

history

After the Franco-Prussian War , Mécleuves came to the German Empire from 1871 to 1918 .

1915-1918 the community had the Germanized name Mekleven and 1940-1944 Klöwern .
