Sorbey is located southeast of Metz at an altitude between 215 and 280 m above sea level, the mean height is 230 m. The municipality covers 5.59 km².
history
The village was first mentioned in 1178, but remains of villas from Roman times can be found.
1915–1918 and 1940–1944 it bore the Germanized name Sorbach .
