Arry is a French commune with 554 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

The municipality of Arry is located between Metz and Pont-à-Mousson on the right bank of the Moselle , which here forms the border with the Meurthe-et-Moselle department for a short distance .

history

The place was first mentioned in 608 and came to France in 1766 with the Duchy of Lorraine .

In the years 1915 to 1918 Arry carried the Germanized name Arrich , 1940-1944 Aringen .
