Marly is a French commune with 10,104 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

Marly is located about seven kilometers south of Metz city ​​center on the lower Seille , a tributary of the Moselle at an altitude between 167 and 201 m above sea level. The municipal area of ​​10.80 km² borders in the west on the air force base Jean Dagnaux (Base aérienne 128 Metz-Frescaty). Marly forms a closed settlement area together with other surrounding communities and the city of Metz. In the northeast of the municipality there is an almost 50 hectare golf course .
