Laquenexy is located about ten kilometers southeast of downtown Metz at an altitude between 215 and 270 m above sea level. The municipal area covers 9.09 km².

history

The place was first mentioned in 1266 as La Cunesie .

In the years from 1915 to 1918 and 1940 to 1944 Laquenexy had the German name Kenchen .
