Pange is a French commune with 871 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .
geography
Pange is located about eight kilometers east of Metz on the French Nied ( Nied française ) at an altitude between 212 and 289 m above sea level. The municipality covers 8.57 km².
history
From 1915 to 1918 it carried the Germanized name Spangen , from 1940 to 1944 Spangen an der Nied . Until 2015, Pange was the main town (chef-lieu) of the canton of Pange, which was dissolved that year .
