Solgne (German Solgen ) is a French commune with 1109 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

Solgne is located southeast of Metz at an altitude between 240 and 299 m above sea level, the mean height is 281 m. The municipal area covers 7.29 km².
history
The place belonged to France from 1661 and was a municipality of the German Empire between 1871 and 1918 as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine . After the Treaty of Versailles , Solgen fell again to France and was under the German civil administration of the Reichsgau Westmark during the German occupation from 1940 to 1944 .
