Saint-Julien-lès-Metz is a French commune with 3421 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). history
In 1867, as part of the creation of the first fort belt around the fortress of Metz ( Barrière de fer ), the design of which goes back mainly to General Séré de Rivières , the construction of Fort St. Julien began later [Manteuffel] . The place had 1915-1918 the German name Sankt Julian bei Metz , during the German occupation in World War II it was incorporated as Metz-Julian in the city of Metz .
