Pournoy-la-Grasse is located southeast of Metz at an altitude between 172 and 246 m above sea level. The municipality covers 7.19 km².

history

The village bore the Germanized name Großprunach 1915-1918 and 1940-1944 . When it was liberated from German occupation, it was badly destroyed in late 1944.
