Lemud is a French commune with 501 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

Lemud is located on the French Nied , 16 kilometers southeast of Metz at an altitude between 216 and 242 m above sea level. The municipality covers 4.24 km².

history

In earlier times the village was also called Le Mud or Le Moeud .

From 1915 to 1918 it had the Germanized name Mud and from 1940 to 1944 it was called Ulmen .
