Maizeroy is a French commune with 390 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region ( Lorraine until 2015 ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Metz .

geography

Maizeroy is 17 kilometers east of Metz on the Deutsche Nied at an altitude between 212 and 325 m above sea level. The municipality covers 8.73 km².

history

The place bore the Germanized name Macherich 1915-1918 and 1940-1944 .

The small village of Chevillon to the north has also been part of the Maizeroy municipality since 1812 .
