Maizery is a commune déléguée in the French commune Colligny-Maizery with 182 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

Maizery is located eleven kilometers east of Metz at an altitude between 230 and 291 m above sea level. The area of ​​the Commune déléguée covers 3.16 km². The Metz- Saint-Avold road runs through the north of the Commune déléguée .

history

From 1915 to 1918 and from 1940 to 1944 the village had the Germanized name Macheringen .

The municipality of Maizery was merged with Colligny to form the Commune nouvelle Colligny-Maizery with effect from June 1, 2016 . It belonged to the arrondissement of Metz and the canton of Pange .
