Edmond Louyot (born November 15, 1861 in La Lobe, a district of Arry ( Moselle department ); † January 17, 1920 ibid) was a French painter .

family

The second son of Camille Louyot, the then mayor of Arry, he attended primary school in his hometown and a secondary school in Montigny near Metz .

Career

Initially intended for a law degree, Louyot then decided to pursue a career as a painter and from 1884 attended art academies in Düsseldorf and Munich . In Düsseldorf he belonged to the circle of the Düsseldorf School of Painting . His paintings, which often show children's and landscape motifs as well as depictions of life on the Dutch coast and the Franco-German border region, are spread across America and Europe.
