Michelle Clunie (born November 7, 1969 in Portland , Oregon ) is an American actress .

life and career

After receiving a scholarship to the Academy of Professional Ballet, she first made a name for herself as a ballet dancer before deciding to switch to acting and move to Los Angeles . In addition to her first television appearances in series such as Palm Beach Duo and Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme , she also appeared in the theater and won the Drama-Logue Award for best actress for the play A Comedy of Eros . Clunie became known worldwide for her role as the lesbian lawyer Melanie Marcus in the series Queer as Folk , which she played from 2000 to 2005.
