Her family then learns that a surgeon believes she could be operated on, allowing her to continue doing gymnastics. Payson has the surgery done and starts exercising again, but due to the changes in her body from her injury, she has to start almost from scratch. With Sasha's help, she discovers an artistic style of gymnastics and makes it onto the team for the Olympic Games. Meanwhile, she falls for Sasha and kisses him on an impulse. Sasha pushes her away and Payson realizes her mistake. She later gets together with Max, although she didn't want to fall in love with him. There she befriends model Maeve in rehab, who shows her how to get out of there very quickly. But her parents refuse to let her exercise, and Kaylie refuses to admit her problem. Her mother is an addict who left her and her father when she was young. After her mother's death, she learns that her mother tried to visit her several times, but her father would not let her. Steve Tanner
Steve is Lauren's father and a former manager of The Rock training center . He is a wealthy lawyer who always tries to give his daughter the best. He was engaged to Summer Van Horne, but she separated from him after learning that he had threatened Lauren's mother. He also met Emily's mother Chloe a few times, but broke up with her because he felt he could not trust her. After Sasha left The Rock , he finally got back together with Summer. He proposes to her again, which she is reluctant to accept because she still has feelings for her ex-boyfriend Sasha Belov. She breaks off the engagement when she learns that Lauren sent the kiss photo of Sasha and Payson to Ellen.
Leslie Tanner
Leslie is Lauren's mother and Steve's ex-wife. She was a drug addict and left Steve and Lauren twice when she was young. Although she wants to visit Lauren every year, Steve won't let her. He also threatens her if she sees Lauren without his permission he will have her arrested. He made Lauren believe that her mother wasn't interested in her life. Leslie dies in a car accident in season two. Lauren then learns that Steve kept her away from her mother the entire time, and leaves him for a while.

Employee at The Rock and The Pizza Shack

Marty Walsh
Marty is the former trainer of The Rock training center and a three-time gold Olympic champion . He leaves the club after Steve Tanner blackmailed him with information about his affair with Ronnie Cruz. After he gets upset about the bullying of Emily by Ellen Beals and speaks to her about it, he is fired as coach of the national team.
Sasha Belov
Sasha is the new coach at The Rock training center , who replaced Marty after he moved to Denver . He is the only gymnast who has overtaken Marty in the number of gold medals, as he won four of them. Although he is quite strict with his students, he takes care of them extensively and wants to get the best out of everyone. Sasha had previously trained a group of gymnasts, but was forced to stop after a girl's fatal accident. His job at The Rock is his first coaching job in five years. He leaves The Rock when he realizes his presence hurts the girls. However, after Payson, Lauren and Emily visit him in Romania , he returns and ultimately becomes the coach of the US national team. He tries to win Summer back, but she firmly believes that God means she belongs to Steve. After the broken engagement, Sasha and Summer see each other again, where they also kiss.
Summer Van Horne
Summer is Steve's ex-girlfriend and his former assistant. She tells Lauren that before she found God, she slept with lots of boys in high school and was called a slut . Damon follows her and hopes to start a family with her and the baby.
Razor
Razor is Emily's employee at Pizza Shack and the lead singer for the band Shelter Pups . When he wants to go on tour as a roadie , he asks his friend Damon to keep his job and take care of Emily. On his return he is amazed to see that Damon and Emily are now a couple, but he continues to behave as good friends towards them.

More figures

Carter Anderson
Carter is a former gymnast at The Rock and Kaylie's ex-boyfriend. He had sex with Lauren while dating Kaylie. When that comes out at a party, he is suspended and excluded from the national championships. He then holds a grudge against Lauren for blaming her for what happened between him and Kaylie. But after he was thrown out at home, he has to live with Lauren in the attic from now on. Carter tries to win Kaylie back and they even kiss, but they split up again. Later he starts a relationship with Lauren, which he ends because he does not agree with her behavior towards other people. When this relationship comes out, he is thrown out of The Rock training center and now works as a trainer in Denver.
Nicky Russo
Nicky is a former gymnast at The Rock and the silver medal winner at the National Championships. He is extremely ambitious and finds the time he does not spend exercising as wasted time. He has feelings for Payson and helps her get illegal cortisone for her back. Although Nicky and Kaylie have been intimate with each other several times, he decides to escape the drama at The Rock and moves to Denver.
Kelly Parker
Kelly is a former national championship winner and is currently training in Denver. Before Payson's accident, she and Payson were rivals. She also made fun of all the girls at The Rock and especially Emily. At this year's national championships, she only finished second behind Kaylie Cruz. Kelly is also the first to notice how dangerously skinny Kaylie is, so she befriends her to learn more about her weight loss.
MJ Martin
MJ is a sports agent and a former tennis star. She now works for one of the largest sports agencies in the USA. She and Sasha were in a relationship when she was a young gymnast. She originally tried to represent Payson, but her parents wouldn't let her, so Kaylie asked him and she said yes. So she tried to portray Nicky and Kaylie as a dream couple, much to the annoyance of the two.
Ellen Beals
Ellen is a member of the National Championship Board. She doesn't like Sasha and would therefore like to get rid of him. After the board fired Marty Walsh, she took over the job of national team coach. She tries to blacken Sasha with a recorded kiss between him and Payson at the committee, but the original tape disappears. As a result, it loses its credibility and influence on the committee.

production

After the newcomer Holly Sorensen in summer 2008 the cable channel ABC Family their series idea titled Perfect 10 had submitted, it was commissioned in October 2008 a script to customize. This was completed a month later and the broadcaster gave the green light to shoot a pilot episode . As director of the pilot episode was Steve Miner committed. The casting started in November 2008 and shortly before Christmas the roles of Mark ( Brett Cullen ), Kim ( Peri Gilpin ) and Payson Keeler ( Ayla Kell ) as well as those of Ronnie ( Rosa Blasi ) and Alex Cruz ( Jason Manuel Olazabal ) as well as those of their children Kaylie ( Josie Loren ) and Bradford ( Marco James ). The roles of Chloe Kmetko ( Susan Ward ) and her two children Emily ( Chelsea Hobbs ) and Brian ( Wyatt Smith ) have also already been cast . In addition, the rather unknown young actor Zachary Burr Abel was able to prevail in the casting against the other candidates and thus received the role of Carter Anderson . The filming of the pilot episode took place in Los Angeles in the fall of 2008 and winter of 2009 . Meanwhile, the producers were able to hire Candace Cameron Bure for the role of Summer Van Horne in early March . Because of the many gymnastics performances, many stunt men and women were hired, including many former members of the UCLA Bruins , the sports team at the University of California .

After viewing the pilot episode in February 2009, the broadcaster ordered nine more episodes that were filmed until July of the same year. After the ratings were satisfactory, ABC Family announced the production of a second season in January 2010. And despite lower ratings during the second season compared to the first, ABC Family extended the series in September 2011 for a third season. This renewed extension was done in the hope that a content reboot and the proximity to the Olympic Games could give it another boost. Since this was not the case, the station announced in April 2012 that the series would be discontinued after the brief third season.
