Peter Brett Cullen (born August 26, 1956 in Houston , Texas ) is an American actor .

Life

Peter Brett Cullen was born to Lucien Hugh Cullen, a manager in the oil industry, and Catherine Cullen. He graduated from Madison High School in Houston in 1974 . Together with actor Dennis Quaid , he studied acting under Cecil Pickett at the University of Houston . The two have been friends since those days. Cullen introduced Quaid's current wife, Kimberly Buffington, at a gala dinner in Austin, Texas. After graduating in 1979, Cullen played for four years at the Houston Shakespeare Festival and a few small television roles before he had his first major success in the television multipart The Thorn Birds in the role of Bob Cleary . Since then he has owned the theater company The Yellow Rose, Inc with Meat Loaf .

In Apollo 13 he played the astronaut Jack Robert Lousma in his role as CAPCOM 1 and the astronaut David Randolph Scott in the HBO miniseries From the Earth to the Moon . In the successful winemaker saga Falcon Crest , he played the role of Dan Fixx for two years, 1986–1988.

Cullen is married to actress Michele Little, with whom he has had a daughter since 1995.
