Success at Any Price is a 1997 American film directed by Douglas Barr . It's a sports drama in which a gymnast wants to make it to the top.

action

Andie Bradley is a gymnast who has always wanted to take part in the Olympics . When she is offered the opportunity to train with one of the best coaches in the United States, she enthusiastically accepts. To do this, she has to move from Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington, away from her boyfriend and best friend.

When she first trained with the others, her coach made her aware of her weight , so she started dieting. However, soon after she met the anorexic Olympic champion Leslie Reynolds, she also becomes anorexic and suffers from bulimia . Her mother sees her lose more and more weight, but she cannot stop it. Her boyfriend also notices her change and separates from her.

Andie tells her friend that although she has noticed the changes, there is nothing she can do about it. When she had to go to the uneven bars in a crucial competition, she had a fit of weakness, slipped and injured herself. Her trainer brings her flowers to the hospital and tells her parents that he always wanted the best for them.

When her parents decide to move back home, Andie runs to the gym to continue exercising normally. But when she notices her trainer saying the same words to a new gymnast as to her at the beginning of her career, she decides to wait and see. When she gets back to Portland, she joins a support group. The last scene in the movie shows Andie returning to her old gym and starting light exercises on the balance beam.
