Roxana Nubert

Roxana Nubert (born January 3, 1953 in Timișoara ) is a German and Romance scholar ; since 1996 head of the German language and literature department at the Western University of Timisoara , Romania .

Life and career

Roxana Nubert attended the German-speaking Nikolaus-Lenau-Lyceum in Timișoara from 1960 to 1972 and then studied German and Romance languages ​​at the Western University of Timisoara.

Her professional career began as a German teacher in Lugoj and Timişoara and moved in 1981 to the West University, where she was from 1981 to 1990 research assistant at the German Institute from 1990 to 1995 as a lecturer and since 1995 as a lecturer worked. In March 1996 she took over the management of the German Politics Chair at the Western University of Timisoara. In 1993 she received her doctorate as Dr. phil. at the University of Bucharest on the subject of "Oscar Walter Cisek as a mediator between German and Romanian culture". Since 1998 she has been a professor at the Department of German Studies at the Western University of Timisoara.

From 1990, she received numerous scholarships in foreign countries at the Goethe-Institut Göttingen (1990), at the Humboldt University of Berlin (1991), at the University of Regensburg (1992), at the Goethe Institute in Munich (1993), at the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich (1994, 1995 and 2005) and at the University of Vienna (1997, 1999, 2000, 202, 2003, 2004 and 2006).

There are also numerous guest lectures at the University of Bucharest (1998), at the Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg (2001), at the University of Extremadura in Cáceres (2001), at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (2002), at the Marbach am Neckar literature archive (2005) and in Tegernsee (2005).
