The Gracie Awards , in the long form Gracie Allen Awards , in short form simply Gracies , are American media awards that have been created for women, by women and about women, as well as for people who have made exemplary contributions in electronic media and similar publications to have. Annually, the Gracie Awards recognize national, local and student work.

The Gracie Awards ceremony is presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWM). The prizes are named after Gracie Allen . Gracie was a successful comedienne, entertainer, entrepreneur and activist especially in the radio and television business. As one half of Burns and Allen , one of the most prominent comedy teams in American history, Gracie set the role model for women in media and entertainment.
The Gracie Awards ceremonies take place over two days and are divided into a gala and a lunch ( luncheon ). The actual Gracie Awards Gala is a festive evening event at which most awards are given to personalities with a national level of recognition. The ceremony takes place regularly at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles , California .
The Gracie Awards Luncheon, less formal, honors local, public, online, and student work, and is typically held in New York .
