Miri Ben-Ari ( Hebrew מירי בן ארי; * December 4, 1978 in Tel Aviv-Jaffa , Israel ) is a classically trained Israeli violinist and Grammy winner. She is best known for her work on several hip hop projects.

Career

Ben-Ari was discovered by Wyclef Jean , a former member of the Fugees . Some of her best-known contributions are Overnight Celebrity for Twista and Fallin ' for Alicia Keys , as well as Jesus Walks and The New Workout Plan from Kanye West's album The College Dropout .

In 2005 she and Kanye West and Che Smith (Rhymefest) received the Grammy Award for Best Rap Song for the song Jesus Walks , which was sung by Kanye West. Her most famous album, The Hip-Hop Violinist , was released in 2005.
