Champigneulles-en-Bassigny is a French commune with 44 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Chaumont and the municipality association Meuse Rognon, founded in 2017 .

geography

The commune of Champigneulles-en-Bassigny is located in the Bassigny countryside near the upper Meuse , 32 kilometers west-southwest of Vittel and about 46 kilometers east of the departmental capital Chaumont . In the east, the municipality borders on the Vosges department . The rivers in the 6.82 km² municipal area drain into the Meuse via the Ruisseau du Grand Étang . With the exception of the two forests Bois Communal Dit la Noue and Gros Bois in the north and west, most of the communal area is characterized by arable and pasture areas. Champigneulles-en-Bassigny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chaumont-la-Ville in the north, Blevaincourt in the east, Germainvilliers in the south, Breuvannes-en-Bassigny in the south-west and Doncourt-sur-Meuse in the west.

Place name

At the time the church was founded in 1793, it was still called Champigneul , from 1801 Champigneulles . In 1924, the name was changed to Champigneulles-en-Bassigny , which is still valid today, by decree in order to distinguish the commune from Champigneulles in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department.
