Silvarouvres is a French commune with 39 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Chaumont and the canton of Châteauvillain . In addition, the community is part of the company founded in 2003 Municipalities of Les Trois Forêts .

location

Silvarouvres is located east of the Aube around 59 kilometers southeast of Troyes and 27 kilometers west-southwest of the small town of Chaumont in the west of the Haute-Marne department on the border with the Aube department . The municipality consists of the village of Silvarouvres and is largely covered by forest.

Neighboring municipalities are Laferté-sur-Aube in the north, Pont-la-Ville in the northeast, Châteauvillain in the southeast, Dinteville in the south, Lanty-sur-Aube in the southwest and Villars-en-Azois in the west.

history

Until the French Revolution, Silvarouvres was within the Bailliage de Chaumont . The parish belonged to the Chaumont district from 1793 to 1801. Since 1801 it has been part of the Chaumont arrondissement. From 1793 to 1801 the place was assigned to the canton Laferté-sur-Aube. Since 1801 the municipality has been located within the canton of Châteauvillain (called Ville-sur-Aujon until 1814).
