Clefmont is located around 28 kilometers southeast of the city of Chaumont in the south of the Haute-Marne department.

history

The mechanization of agriculture led to heavy emigration in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Clefmont was historically part of the Baillage de Chaumont within the province of Champagne . The place belonged to the Bourmont district from 1793 to 1801 and was also the capital of the Clefmont canton of the same name from 1793 to 2015 .
