Blessonville is a French commune with 1584 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Chaumont and the canton of Châteauvillain . Blessonville is eleven kilometers southwest of Chaumont and seven kilometers northeast of Châteauvillain between the A5 and the former Chaumont-Semoutiers Air Base .

Blessonville is an old town. Between the places Blessonville and Bricon there is a Lingon settlement whose name is unknown . Sigerich von Canterbury recorded the place Blaecuile in his record of the Via Francigena as a stage place LXIV.
