Malaincourt-sur-Meuse is a French commune with 57 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Champagne-Ardenne ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Chaumont and the municipality association Meuse Rognon, founded in 2017 . The residents call themselves Levécourtois .

The municipality of Malaincourt-sur-Meuse is located in the Bassigny countryside near the upper Meuse , about 37 kilometers east of the departmental capital Chaumont and 34 kilometers west-southwest of Vittel . The 3.83 km² municipal area is characterized by two ridges running in a west-east direction, which slope down to the Maas valley in the west. Between the ridges that reach over 400 m above sea level, the Ruisseau de Malaincourt flows west to the Maas, two kilometers from the village of Malaincourt. Away from the floodplain of the Ruisseau de Malaincourt and its tributary Ruisseau des Aulnaies , the landscape consists of gentle, partly wooded hills. The highest point in the municipality is Le Neuillon, 501 m above sea level on the eastern municipality border. In addition to the wooded slopes and remains of alluvial forest, there are smaller forest areas in the north and south of the municipality ( Bois de la Montagne, Bois du Four, Bois Brûlé, Bois de la Charme ). Malaincourt-sur-Meuse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Brainville-sur-Meuse in the north, Graffigny-Chemin in the east, Chaumont-la-Ville in the southeast, Doncourt-sur-Meuse in the southwest and Hâcourt in the west.
Place name
The municipality, originally called Malaincourt , was given the suffix -sur-Meuse ( on the Maas ) in 1925 to distinguish it from the municipality of Malaincourt, which is 15 kilometers northeast .

Economy and Infrastructure
Malaincourt-sur-Meuse has a rural character. In the municipality, three farms are active in their main occupation (cattle breeding, dairy farming).
The D74 trunk road from Neufch1ateau to Langres runs four kilometers west of Malaincourt-sur-Meuse ; There is a connection to the A31 autoroute seven kilometers to the east .
