Aizanville is a French commune with 34 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Chaumont and the canton of Châteauvillain . In addition, the community is part of the company founded in 2003 Municipalities of Les Trois Forêts . The inhabitants are called Aizanvillois (es) .

location

Aizanville is located on the Aujon River about 64 kilometers east-southeast of Troyes and 18 kilometers west of the small town of Chaumont in the west of the Haute-Marne department. The parish consists of the village of Aizanville and the hamlet of Saint-Libère.

Neighboring municipalities are Maranville in the north, Vaudrémont in the northeast and east, Braux-le-Châtel in the southeast, Orges in the south and Cirfontaines-en-Azois in the west.

history

Aizanville was founded in the 12th century as a fief of the Laferté-sur-Aube priory and was subordinate to the Counts of Bar-sur-Aube. The parish belonged to the Chaumont district from 1793 to 1801. Since 1801 it has been part of the Chaumont arrondissement. The municipality has been within the canton of Châteauvillain since 1801 .
