The Gauwirtschaftskammer Rhein-Main was the Gauwirtschaftskammer for the Gau Hessen-Nassau from 1943 to 1945 .

As early as 1933, the Limburg , Wiesbaden , Hanau and Frankfurt am Main chambers of industry and commerce were combined as the Prussian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the Rhine-Main economic area. At the same time, the Association of Hessen-Nassau Chambers of Industry and Commerce was dissolved and replaced by the Rhein-Mainische Industrie- und Handelstag. This included the IHK for the Rhine-Main economic area and the Hessian chambers of industry and commerce in Bingen , Darmstadt , Friedberg , Gießen , Mainz , Offenbach am Main and Worms .

In September 1936 this association was replaced by the Hesse Chamber of Commerce. The Hesse Chamber of Commerce was the joint representation of the professional divisions existing in its district of the organization of the commercial economy, the chambers of industry and commerce, the chambers of crafts (such as the Chamber of Crafts Frankfurt am Main ) dissolved and the organization of the transport industry. Its district included the state of Hesse and the Prussian province of Hesse-Nassau (excluding the districts of Biedenkopf, Dillenburg and the rule of Schmalkalden and some communities in the St. Goarshausen district). The office of the Chamber of Commerce was the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Frankfurt am Main.

On January 1, 1943, the chambers of industry and commerce as well as the chambers of crafts were dissolved and the district chambers of commerce were transferred. Carl Lüer , the previous president of the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry , became president of the Gau Chamber of Commerce. However, he resigned the office shortly after the Gau Chamber of Commerce was founded and his deputy, the Reich Guild Master for the electrical trade, Hermann Gamer , became president.

With the end of the war, the activity of the Gau Chamber of Commerce ended. The chambers of industry and commerce as well as the chamber of crafts were newly formed. Due to the separation of Rheinhessen from Hessen, there was no direct successor at the association level, the Gauwirtschaftskammer Rhein-Main.
