The municipality of Doncourt-sur-Meuse is located in the Bassigny region on the upper Meuse , about 27 kilometers south-southwest of Neufchâteau and 36 kilometers west of Vittel . The municipal area of ​​5.93 km² is characterized by two ridges running in a west-east direction, which slope down to the Maas in the west. The valley of the Ruisseau du Grand Étang extends between the ridges . From this valley, the village of Doncourt “climbs” about 35 meters up the northern ridge with the church at the highest point. With the exception of steeper slopes and remains of alluvial forest on the banks of the Maas and Ruisseau du Grand Étang , the landscape in the municipality is characterized by fields and pastures. Doncourt-sur-Meuse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Hâcourt in the north, Malaincourt-sur-Meuse in the north-east, Chaumont-la-Ville in the east, Champigneulles-en-Bassigny in the south-east, Breuvannes-en-Bassigny in the south, Levécourt in the south-west as well Huilliécourt in the west.
