The church district Schlüchtern was a church district of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck (EKKW) in the Hanau-Hersfeld district. On January 1, 2020, it merged with the neighboring parish of Gelnhausen to form the parish of Kinzigtal . The seat of the deanery and the church district office was Schlüchtern , the last director was Dean Wilhelm Hammann.

23,655 Protestant Christians lived in the 10 parishes of the church district. 25 pastors (from parishes, clinic pastoral care and school service) formed the parish conference.

It bordered the Hessian church districts of Fulda in the north and Gelnhausen in the south. The Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau joined in the west and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria in the east .
