The Kirchhain parish is a parish of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck in the Marburg district . Around 42,000 Protestant Christians live in the 35 parishes of the church district. In the Kirchhain church district, there are 14 church-sponsored day-care centers. The head of the church district is Dean Hermann Köhler. The seat of the church district is currently Cölbe .

Communities

The church district extends over the political communities Amöneburg , Cölbe , Kirchhain , Lahntal , Marburg (only the districts of Bauerbach and Ginseldorf ), Münchhausen , Neustadt (without Mengsberg ), Rauschenberg , Stadtallendorf , Wetter and Wohratal . On January 1, 2012, it was newly formed from the previous Kirchhain parish and the northern parishes of the Marburg-Land parish and now consists of the following parishes:

In the west it borders on the deanery Biedenkopf-Gladenbach ( Evangelical Church in Hesse and Nassau ) and the parish of Marburg , in the north on the parish of Eder , in the east on the parish of Schwalm-Eder (all three Kurhessen-Waldeck) and in the south on the Deanery Vogelsberg (Hessen-Nassau).

Church music

In the 35 parishes there are (as of 2019) 25 Protestant trumpet choirs and numerous church choirs. There is an evangelical singing and music school in Stadtallendorf. The two district cantors for the Kirchhain church district are Christiane Kessler and Peter Groß.
