The Wolfhagen parish was a parish of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck (EKKW) in the Kassel district. On January 1, 2020, it merged with the neighboring Hofgeismar to form the Hofgeismar-Wolfhagen church district .
28,000 Protestant Christians lived in the 28 parishes of the church district, for whom 19 pastors were responsible. The last district cantor was church music director Bernd Geiersbach, last head of the church district Dean Gernot Gerlach. 23 lecturers and 2 predicants contributed to the design and implementation of church services. The seat of the church district was Wolfhagen .

The parish bordered in the north on the Evangelical Church of Westphalia , in the east on the church districts Hofgeismar , Kaufungen and Kassel , in the south on the church district Fritzlar-Homberg and in the west on the church districts Twiste-Eisenberg and Eder (all EKKW).
