The church district Ziegenhain was a church district of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck in the Marburg district . On January 1, 2020, it merged with the neighboring church districts Fritzlar-Homberg and Melsungen to form the church district Schwalm-Eder .
Around 40,000 Protestant Christians lived in the 59 parishes of the church district. 32 pastors were responsible for them. The last head of the church district was Dean Christian Wachter. The seat of the church district was Ziegenhain .
Communities
The church district extended over the political communities of Breitenbach ( district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg ), Frielendorf , Gilserberg , Neukirchen , Oberaula , Ottrau , Schrecksbach , Schwalmstadt , Schwarzenborn , Willingshausen (all Schwalm-Eder district), Mengsberg ( district of Marburg-Biedenkopf ) and Alsfeld ( Vogelsbergkreis ).
