Evangelical Church Oberaula

The Evangelical Church Oberaula is a listed church building in Oberaula in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse .

The first church in Oberaula is dated around the year 1000. The patronage was held by the Fulda Monastery . This was sold in 1400 to the Archdiocese of Mainz , which around 1463 awarded Kirchsatz Oberaula with Hausen Castle as a fief to the von Dörnberg family .

The tapering late Gothic spire with the four corner towers is the landmark of Oberaula and dates from the 15th century. The baroque nave was added to the tower in 1717.
