Evangelical Church Ascherode
The Evangelical Church Ascherode is a listed church building in Ascherode , a district of Schwalmstadt , in the Schwalm-Eder district , in Hesse . It belongs to the parish of Franz von Roques in Schwalmstadt in the Ziegenhain parish of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck .
The small, plastered building with a vaulted rectangular choir and a hexagonal canopy crowned by a lantern on the Kirchberg on the southern outskirts was built in its current form in 1896 by Wilhelm Spahr . Parts of the previous building, a late Gothic chapel from the end of the 16th century, were preserved and included in the construction. The windows in late Gothic shapes also date from this period. H. Müller installed the organ in 1897.
