Wilhelm Spahr

Wilhelm Spahr (born March 8, 1867 in Lich ; † June 3, 1945 there ) was a German architect .

In 1892 he received his first building contract, for the Klingelhöfer bakery in Haspelstrasse in Marburg . 1893–94 he built the pilgrimage chapel Mariabild, east of Stadtallendorf, which Carl Schäfer had designed in 1877. In 1894 he changed the nave of the Protestant church in Bortshausen. In the years 1895–1897 the Protestant Spahr worked on the drafts, plans and construction of the synagogue at the Marburg University Church , which was destroyed in 1938. The Evangelical Church of Ascherode , not far from Treysa, renovated Spahr in 1896/1897. In 1899/1900 the private house at Bismarckstrasse 32 in Marburg was built according to Spahr's design. In 1901 he built the Hotel Spies zu Gladenbach (Markstr. 28) in the late historical style. He was busy planning the synagogue of the Limburg community in 1902/1903, followed by designs for the corp house of Teutonia Marburg in 1903/1904 . A workers' settlement designed by him on Rothenberg in Marburg (today: house numbers 30 to 44) was completed in 1910. In 1910/1911 Spahr's publication “About the restoration of architectural monuments in the Marburg i. H. ”in“ The Art of Our Home ”.
