Yang Shu-chun ( Chinese  楊淑君 , Pinyin Yáng Shújūn , born October 26, 1985 in New Taipei ) is a Taiwanese Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 49 kilograms.

Yang played her first international title fights at the Junior World Championships 2000 in Killarney . In the class up to 44 kilograms she was able to win her first title straight away. The following year she took part in the adult division at the World Championships in Jeju-si , but dropped out there early. Another medal won Yang with silver at the Junior World Championships in 2002 in Heraklion . Yang finally achieved her breakthrough to the international top in the adult field in 2006. At the Asian Games in Doha , she reached the final against Wu Jingyu and won the silver medal. At the 2007 World Championships in Beijing , she was eliminated in the class up to 47 kilograms in the semifinals against Wu Jingyu and won her first world championship medal with bronze. Yang recorded her first international title win at the 2008 Asian Cup in Henan . She participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. With two wins she reached the semi-finals, where she was eliminated again against Wu Jingyu. In the battle for third place, she was defeated by Daynellis Montejo and finished fifth in the final ranking.

The 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou ended with a scandal for Yang . Because of additional sensors attached to her feet, which could more easily trigger a hit on the vest of her opponents, she was disqualified in the opening fight. The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) then banned her for three months and her trainer Liu Tsung-ta for 20 months. Yang sued the verdict without success and withdrew an application to the International Court of Justice for Sports (CAS). The disqualification at the Asian Games met with incomprehension in the Taiwanese media. When Yang returned from Guangzhou, she was given a demonstratively enthusiastic reception.

Yang found his way back to success at the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju . In the class up to 49 kilograms she reached the final, where she lost again to Wu Jingyu, but won her second World Cup medal with silver. At the international Olympic qualification tournament in Baku , Yang won the decisive battle for third place and qualified for her second Olympic Games in London in 2012 . In Ho Chi Minh City , she was once again Asian champion in 2012.
