Wu Jingyu ( Chinese  吳靜 鈺 , Pinyin Wú Jìngyù ; born February 1, 1987 in Jiangxi ) is a Chinese Taekwondoin . Her greatest successes are two world championship titles from 2007 and 2011 as well as winning the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in 2008 and 2012 .

At the Asian Games in Doha in 2006 , Wu Jingyu won the gold medal in the class up to 47 kilograms. A year later, at the Taekwondo World Cup in Beijing in 2007 , she was able to fight for the world title in this weight class. Wu was named to the Chinese squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics , also held in Beijing. She started in the Olympic Taekwondo tournament in the weight class up to 49 kilograms. In the first round, Wu Jingyu defeated the Kenyan Mildred Alango 7-0. In the quarterfinals she beat the Swede Hanna Zajc with 8: 1, in the semifinals against the Taiwanese Yang Shu-chun with 4: 1. In the final, Wu Jingyu defeated Buttree Puedpong from Thailand .

Wu defended her gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games and became world champion again in 2011. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , she won the gold medal again, defeating Brigitte Yagüe in the final . In 2010 and 2012 she also won the title of Asian Champion. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Wu lost to the later silver medalist Tijana Bogdanović from Serbia in the quarter-finals .
