Taekwondo World Championships 2011

The 20th Taekwondo World Championship took place from May 1st to May 6th, 2011 in the South Korean city ​​of Gyeongju .

The Council of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) decided to apply on November 29, 2009 during its meeting in Cairo . A four-person South Korean delegation, led by Jin Bang Yang, Secretary General of the Korean Taekwon-Do Association ( 한국 태권도 협회 ; 韓國 跆拳道 協會 ; KTA), traveled to Cairo for the presentation.

South Korea hosted the World Cup for the sixth time, the last time it was held in 2001 in the city of Jeju-si .
