Chutchawal Khawlaor (born January 17, 1988 ) is a Thai Taekwondoin . It starts in the lightest weight class up to 54 kilograms.

Khawlaor celebrated his first international success at the 2003 Junior Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City , where he won the title in the class up to 45 kilograms. Two years later he was able to successfully defend the title in Almaty . Khawlaor made his breakthrough to the top of the international league in 2006. In Bangkok , he became Asian champion for the first time in the adult division in the up to 54 kilogram class. At his first World Cup in Beijing in 2007 , Khawlaor reached the final and immediately won the silver medal after losing to Choi Yeon-ho . He qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where he reached the semifinals in the class up to 58 kilograms with two victories, but ultimately just missed a medal after defeats against Guillermo Pérez and Chu Mu-yen and came in fifth.

Khawlaor remained successful in the following years. At the 2009 World Cup in Copenhagen he reached the semi-finals and won his second World Cup medal with bronze after losing to Mahmood Haidari . In 2010 he was Asian champion in Astana and also won the gold medal at the Asian Games in Guangzhou . Khawlaor celebrated his greatest sporting success so far at the 2011 World Cup in Gyeongju . In the final of the class up to 54 kilograms he beat Park Ji-woong and became world champion for the first time. The following year he suffered a knee injury in the semi-finals of the Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City and thus missed participation in the 2012 Olympic Games in London after he had initially prevailed against Pen-Ek Karaket within the team .
