Guillermo Pérez Sandoval (born October 14, 1979 in Uruapan ) is a former Mexican Taekwondoin who was active in flyweight. In 2008 he became the first Mexican Olympic champion in Taekwondo.

Pérez played his first international title fights at the Pan American Championship 2003 in Quito , where he was eliminated in the opening fight. Three years later he took part in the world championship for the first time in Madrid in the class up to 58 kilograms and reached the second round. Pérez finally achieved his breakthrough in the international top at the 2007 World Cup in Beijing . He made it to the final and won his first international medal with silver. The following year he competed in the Beijing 2008 Olympics. With two wins in the flyweight up to 58 kilograms, he fought his way to the semi-finals, where he beat Chutchawal Khawlaor . In the final it was a draw against Yulis Mercedes after the fight, Pérez won by referee decision and became the first Mexican Olympic champion in Taekwondo. Following the Games, Pérez only played a few international competitions. In Monterrey he won a silver medal at the 2010 Pan American Championship, after which he ended his active career.

Pérez was inspired by Bruce Lee when he was a child . At the age of six he came to Taekwondo and has since started for the Tecnológico de Uruapan association .
