Jon García Aguado (born September 22, 1977 in Durango ) is a Spanish Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 87 kilograms.

García played his first international title fights at the 1998 European Championship in Eindhoven , where he was eliminated in the class up to 84 kilograms in the round of 16. He won numerous middleweight medals in the years that followed. At the European Championships in Patras in 2000 he won silver and in 2002 in Samsun bronze. He was also able to win his first world championship medal with bronze at the 2001 World Championships in Jeju-si . García took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . In the over 80 kilogram class, he made it to the quarter-finals, but lost to the later Olympic champion Moon Dae-sung . After another defeat in the Hope Round, he finished seventh in the final ranking.

The year 2005 was a success. García became European champion for the first time in Riga in the class up to 84 kilograms with a final victory over Bahri Tanrıkulu . He also reached the final at the home World Cup in Madrid , but won silver after losing to Oh Seon-taek . In the following year García successfully defended his European Championship title from the previous year in Bonn . In the final he prevailed again against Tanrıkulu. He took part in his second Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , but retired this time after an opening defeat against Akmal Ergashev .

García also won other international medals in the following years. At the 2010 European Championships in Saint Petersburg and the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju , he reached the semifinals in the class up to 87 kilograms. After losing to Carlo Molfetta and Youssef Karami , he won a bronze medal each.
