Taekwondo European Championships 2006

The 2006 European Taekwondo Championships took place from May 26th to 28th, 2006 in Bonn , Germany . The title fights were organized by the European Taekwondo Union (ETU). A total of 16 competitions took place, eight each for women and men in different weight classes.

With three gold and four bronze medals, Spain was the most successful nation ahead of the Netherlands and Germany. Among the German fighters, Pınar Budak in the class up to 59 kilograms and Levent Tuncat in the class up to 58 kilograms were European champions. Helena Fromm came second in the class up to 63 kilograms, Bashir Adam won bronze in the class up to 80 kilograms. The only Swiss medal was secured by Nina Kläy , who was defeated by Pınar Budak in the final.
